Early in 2008, an interesting idea combined with a heavy dose of inspiration, a measure of determination, and just a splash of insanity. Many late nights and excited mornings later, the Calendar of WRock 2009 was completed. It combines photographs from Wizard Rock bands, lyrics from Wizard Rock music and Harry Potter character birthdays into one unique calendar. There are a few of the images from the calendar uploaded to this group, so you can get a taste of what it looks like.

However, for most of the calendar’s creation, the final goal was never just to complete the design. We decided early on that we wanted to give back to the Harry Potter community that had given so much, by selling the calendar, and donating all the proceeds to the Harry Potter Alliance ( http://www.thehpalliance.org ) The Harry Potter Alliance, if you haven’t heard of it, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to furthering the cause of social justice world-wide, by taking inspiration from Harry’s world to create a “Dumbledore’s Army” to fight real injustice in our own.
